Jürgen Wettke and Richard Konecky met on a photo tour in Iceland and discovered that their shared passion is aerial photography. Fascinated by the variety of structures, colors and the unique light, both set out on a journey to the remote regions of the East African country.
Jürgen Wettke is a German landscape and aerial photographer. In addition to his career as the head of an international consulting company and his professorship at the medical faculty of the University of Düsseldorf, he has been a passionate photographer since childhood. Several of his photo books have been published by teNeues: The Art of the Wadden Sea, The Namib Desert and recently Iceland - Nature of the North.
Born in New York City, lawyer and photographer Richard Konecky currently lives in San Francisco. His photographic work includes casual portraits and environmental shots, landscape, macro, abstract and aerial photography. Konecky took his first aerial photographs during an earlier project in Iceland and was impressed by the changed perspective and geometry of the landscape.
