With a range of focal lengths from 16 to 35 mm, this high-performance lens expands the spectrum of the existing portfolio of SL zoom lenses into the wide-angle domain.

Fast and sharp when it matters

Together with exceptional imaging performance at all distances and apertures, this high-performance lens offers simultaneously fast and almost silent autofocus. For this, only one very light element is moved for focusing. A specially developed drive concept comprising a stepping motor and linear positioning enables very fast, almost-silent, and precise focusing without changing the overall length of the lens.

As is the case with all other components of the SL-System, the Super-Vario-Elmar-SL 16–35 f/3.5–4.5 ASPH. is designed and constructed to meet the special demands of professional photography. Made in Germany, the robust construction of this lens and its AquaDura® lens coating make it ideal for use in even the most unfavorable conditions. Improved mount geometry and high-quality coating ensure optimum suppression of reflections and stray light within the optical system.
