Jesse Marlow

Street Photographer

Jesse Marlow is based in Melbourne, Australia. Over the last 25 years he has worked for a range of local and international editorial and commercial clients. His works are held in public and private collections across Australia and the world including the National Gallery of Victoria and the Australian Parliament House Collection. In 2003, he published his first book of photographs: Centre Bounce: Football from Australia’s Heart, (Hardie Grant Books). In 2005 he published a book of street photographs titled Wounded, (Sling Shot Press). In 2006 he was selected to participate in the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass in Amsterdam. In 2010 he was one of 45 street photographers from around the world profiled in the book Street Photography Now (Thames & Hudson). In 2011 he was the inaugural winner of the International Street Photography Prize. In 2012, Marlow won the MGA Bowness Prize, one of Australia’s leading Photography prizes. In 2014, Marlow published his third monograph – Don’t Just Tell Them, Show Them. In 2021, Marlow published his fourth monograph Second City.

Having such quality but simple camera systems in both the Q2 and SL2, provide me with a sense of ease and reliability which help me tackle the unpredictability of shooting out on the street or on assignment.
